PEPSI CO

Every several years or so, the CEO of Pepsi Co comes to the factory in order to boost morale and hear directly from the workers about the improvements and progress they have made. It is a day-long event, and special to the workers of the factory.

We shot and developed 3 videos for Pepsi. One 2-minute highlight of the whole event, one teaser reel to share with the director, and one 30-second highlight for social media and external use. For this project, we used drones to make sure we captured the scope of the factory.

Behind the Scenes

Our crew consisted of a four-person team: 1 photographer, 2 camera ops/drone pilots, and 1 director/producer. We also had an editor working with the footage. The team had worked with drones on a project this scale before, so we were comfortable manoeuvring the gear. One thing however, we had to navigate well for this project was avoiding machinery while flying the drones. Since the drones were flying through the factory, there were many cranes, large machines, and very tall storage shelves that we had to dodge. We were able to solve this particular issue by getting a general feel of where the machinery was located by mapping out the blueprint of the factory.


A factory this large also needs much more manpower. One other difficulty we faced during this shoot was organizing the team members to capture specific shots while not disturbing their work. We worked with the supervisor and had to be creative in the ways we shot interviews. After getting all the footage, our editor also had to ensure that other brand names were not shown on screen due to copyright issues and that the videos were in full compliance with HR’s policies.


Fortunately, we were able to get all the footage that day, and even wrapped it early as all the work was finished.

Celebrating A Legacy of Old

Since its creation in 1898, Pepsi Co has long faced many challenges and many celebrations. For 125 years, the company has been carried on the shoulders of individuals who have shown courage, resilience, and flexibility. It is not easy to build something, more or less extend its longevity. Pepsi Co’s desire for innovation, along with the commitment of its members, have helped established it as a superpower in its respective industry.

In an era built on instant gratification, oftentimes discipline and grit are undervalued. Success is not immediate and enterprises are not created overnight. It takes courage to begin a business and resilience and flexibility to maintain. This project with Pepsi Co was the perfect opportunity for us to display this steadfast strength, and this strength is what will continue to enforce their presence.
